Potatoes in a smooth mildly spiced spinach sauce. This delicious aloo palak curry goes well with roti, naan or paratha. Aloo palak is a simple, healthy & delicious dish of spinach, potatoes & spices. It can be served with rice, roti, paratha or puri.

Steps to make Aalu palak:
  1. Wash spinach thoroughly then chop.
  2. Add 1/2 cup oil in a pan and turn on flame to medium.
  3. Add cumin seeds(zeera) and cook for 1 min.
  4. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent.
  5. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chillies paste and cook for 2 mins.
  6. Add tomatoes puree and along with, add salt, red chilli powder, red chilli flakes, coriander powder and turmeric powder and cook well.
  7. Add potatoes and cook for 5 mins.
  8. Add chopped spinach and cook for 25 mins on low flame with covered lid.
  9. After 25 mins, open the lid, turn the flame high and dry excess water.
  10. Add garam masala powder, methi and green chillies.
  11. Cook for 5 mins on low flame with covered lid until oil separates.
  12. Dish out and serve.
