- Take 1 Tomato

I already have few version of onion tomato chutney in my blog. I dont make the same chutney. Very easy to prepare and tastes really yummy and delicious. This can be made in different ways to suite.
Steps to make Onion tomato chutney:
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add onion pieces and fry till they become a bit soft.
- Now add garlic cloves, hing and cook them slightly so that rawness of garlic is left.
- Now add tomato, salt and cook them. After tomatoes are slightly cooked switch off the gas.
- Let all items cool, after that grind them without adding water.
- Heat 1tsp oil in a small pan on a low to medium heat.
- Add mustard, cumin, red chilli and a generous pinch of urad dal (adds flavor). When the dals turn golden.
- Add curry leaves and hing. Switch off. Pour this to the chutney.
This Onion Tomato Chutney Recipe is usually my quick-fix chutney that uses no coconut which means it doesn't require me to defrost the coconut and it goes especially well with idli and dosa. You can replace mint leaves with coriander leaves for Onion Tomato chutney with coriander flavour.
